Machine Trade-in Policy
Most, if not all big box stores will not take your old sewing machine or serger as a trade in towards a brand new machine. Most, small independent sewing machine shop owners will! Our store has a liberal trade in policy that will help obtain that new machine that you desire. Generally, the maximum allowable value that your trade in can represent in a new machine purchase is 30% of the price of the new machine. That is, if your new machine purchase is $1,000.00 then the most we can give you for your trade in is $300.00 depending on the condition of your machine. A trade in has to be in good working order (requiring only a minimal amount of reconditioning for resale) and we use the nationally accepted sewing machine blue book to determine values.
Machine Servicing Rates
Our machine servicing rates are among the most competitive in the local market. We have a professional technician on staff with many years of experience in repairing virtually every make and model of machine that has been built. Our new servicing rates effective January 1st, 2009 are $58.95. For this we take your machine apart, clean all the debri, oil and grease all moving parts where necessary, reassemble and check all systems of your machine. Our price includes buffing the needle plate of burrs if required, changing the needle every time and a thorough sew out upon completion. We offer a 30 day warranty on all of our machine repairs.
We attempt to have all machines serviced within 3–5 days. You will be notified if there will be any additional charges for parts or labour to complete your repairs. We ask that all repairs are picked up within 30 days of being contacted to free up our limited machine storage area.
